Do you want to channel your student’s energy into the MUSIC? It’s not just the exciting rhythms, the interplay of parts, or the intriguing languages (including click sounds) that make this music so engaging. The physical actions that are integral to every song make it a uniquely captivating experience for teacher and student alike. Better yet, the songs can work for ANY combination of voices, in any number of contexts. Because it is primarily an orally-transmitted singing tradition, opportunities to learn the authentic music are rare. You’ll leave this session with a body-based knowledge of the structure and parts for several songs, plus notation or solfege maps to aid in recreating the songs in your classroom. Songbooks and CD/DVD learning tools will be available for order.
