Based on mbira parts to Nhimutimu, a traditional Shona song, this workshop offers a solid introduction to mbira-style marimba, playing parts in the kushaura and kutsinhira positions, and how to be comfortable with the beat in either position. We will develop the ability to play the same part a pulse behind, as well as to play two parts in a 3-against-2 relationship.
