Bob Sisson

Bob began playing Zimbabwean marimba music in Seattle in1992 under the instruction of Carl Heller, a former student of Dumisani Maraire. In 1998, he helped form a group in Olympia, Washington, currently known as Mukana Marimba. He attended his first Zimfest in 1999 and has attended seven subsequent Zimfests from Bellingham to Oregon. He was a member of the organizing committee for Zimfest 2007, in Olympia. Bob has extensive workshop experience with many local and traveling teachers such as Michael Sibanda, Michael Breez, Stephen Golovnin, Sheree Seretse, Farai Geze, Randy MacIntosh, Amy Stewart, Chris Berry and more. He currently resides in Olympia where he repairs musical instruments professionally.
