Zimfest 2010

The Zimfest Association is pleased to announce that the 2010 Zimbabwean Music Festival will be held Friday, August 20th through Sunday, August 22nd on the campus of Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. OSU provides a comfortable and convenient environment for Zimfest, with housing, concerts and marketplace all located within a small distance of one another.

The Zimest 2010 Organizing Committee is composed of enthusiastic young talent as well as veteran festival organizers:

  • Michael Beardsworth: Concert coordinator
  • Marilyn Kolodziejczyk: Zimbabwean guest coordinator
  • Gary Spalter: Finances
  • Paul Mataruse: Registration & festival guides
  • Mark Hoskins: Workshops, registration
  • Guy Tauscher: Communications, teacher coordinator
  • Lynne Swift: Marketplace coordinator

In the next few weeks, the Organizing Committee will post a calendar outlining teacher and performer application dates, as well as information about when registration materials will become available. To stay informed, we encourage you to visit the Zimfest website and the new Zimfest 2010 blog. Until the Zimfest 2010 website becomes operational, all announcements will be posted to the blog.

Finally, Zimfest 2010 is seeking artwork and graphics for festival guide, posters and T-shirts. If you are interested in contributing, please check the blog-submission details will be posted in the near future.
